 | L'inclinaison musicale de André Marie Tala est innée, car aussi loin que l'on considère sa vie, la musique a toujours été présente. Né le 29 Octobre 1950 à Bandjoun, Ouest Cameroun, Tala perd sa mère à l'âge de quatre ans et son père douze ans plus tard. Ces deux drames encadrent un autre beaucoup plus grave: il perd la vue brutalement à 15 ans. Recueilli par sa grand-mère, le jeune Tala se consacre dès lors entièrement à sa passion: la musique. à l'âge de dix-sept ans, André Marie succombe à la déferlante de la chanson française. C"est l'époque yéyé. De tous les chanteurs, c'est à Johnny Halliday que va sa préférence. Influencé par ces sonorités et accords nouveaux, il fonde son premier groupe musical, les Rock Boys avec lequel il interprète ses premières compositions: les peines du travail, honore ton père et ta mère.  | Né à Paris, Kristo Numpuby est élevé dans la forêt tropicale Camerounaise. Dès l'âge de huit ans, il compose des chansons et s'intéresse aux percussions. Mais c'est sa grand mère qui lui donne une éducation musicale plus large : « Nguéba, ma grand-mère tenait un bar à Eseka. On y écoutait à longueur de journée divers styles de musiques : classique, jazz, rythm'n'blues, James Brown, afro-cubain, rumba zaïroise, high-life, makossa, biguine. Je baignais dans un univers musical kaleidoscopique ». Finalement, à 12 ans, Kristo reçoit une guitare. Désormais il peut interpréter tous les tubes qui passent à la radio. À 18 ans, il forme un trio qui interprète uniquement ses propres compositions ; Kristo chante et joue essentiellement de l'Assiko. Manuel “Wambo” Wandji born in Nancy (France) where his father studies. 1970, the family goes to Cameroon where Manuel discovers his second homeland, settling down in Yaounde. A time of real musical education begins as he opens himself to the world and sounds of the equatorial forests and traditional music. 1975, “Wambo” (his nick-name in Cameroon) begins beating out rhythms with his school pals – first band, first concerts. 1980, return to France. | Manu Dibango was born Emmanuel Dibango N'Djoké(born 12 December 1933 in Douala, Cameroon) is a Cameroonian saxophonist and vibraphone player. He developed a musical style fusing jazz, funk and traditional Cameroonian music. He is a member of the Yabassi ethnic group, though his mother was a Duala. He was a member of the seminal Congolese rumba group African Jazz, and has collaborated with many other musicians, including Fania All Stars, Fela Kuti, Herbie Hancock, Bill Laswell, Bernie Worrell, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Don Cherry, and Sly and Robbie. In 1998 he recorded the album CubAfrica with Cuban artist Eliades Ochoa . Who knows ? If he had not been born under the star sign of Sagittarius, he might never have had the temperament of a nomad and the taste for adventure..  | Born in Cameroon into a family of musicians, Henri Dikongué grew up in the capital city, Yaounde, where he learned the acoustic guitar from his uncle. His grandmother brought him to the protestant choir where he first sang. Henri sings in Douala (his parents' native city), and his most important musical influence was makossa. Henri Dikongué has been living in France for 12 years now. He first came to Besancon to study law, but quickly abandoned it to pursue music alone. He joined the pan-African music and theater company Masques & Tam-Tam where he met actor Martin Yog, singer Alfred M'Bongo and percussionist Manuel Wandji.
